This brochure, published as an exhibition catalogue by the Bangalore-based gallery Kala Yatra, carries a reprint of an important article written by Phyllis Granoff on sculptor S. Nandagopal 's works. Assessing the early works of S.Nandagopal, Granoff places the visual processes of Nandagopal's works in the folk and classical visual art traditions of India and demonstrates how Nandagopal achieves modernity with his native idiom.
