Titas De Sarkar is currently pursuing his doctoral research from the Centre for Historical Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. He is working on 'Youth Cultures and Post-Colonial Politics of Representation'.

Satyajit Ray (1921–92) is no longer the only Indian filmmaker the world has heard of, but he remains the best-known. Ray’s international reputation, however, does not adequately reflect the complexities and ideological nuances of his films. This module is an attempt to uncover the many layers that lend to his legendary status in world cinema.
