Kumari and Chameli Nishaad are sisters who have devoted their life to the Pandvani. Despite hardships, they have tenaciously held on to the form and kept it alive. Chameli Nishaad is one of the few women banjo artists. As women artists and as a sister duo, the Nishaad sisters are one of a kind.

Pandvani literally means singing and enacting the stories and songs of the Pandavas. The Pandvani singer sings and enacts an episode from the Mahabharata (with variations).
