The massive rubble and Delhi-quartzite architectural ruins near the Badarpur-Mehrauli road are actually a story laid in stone—the story of the establishment of the Tughlaq dynasty during 14th century CE. Within one year of his reign Ghazi Malik, popularly known as Ghiyas-ud-din Tughlaq, decided to build his own capital—the first Tughlaq capital—Tughlaqabad. Through the images of the surviving portions and architectural remains, the image gallery is an attempt to take you back in the era of this pre–gunpowder period fort.
