Vaishnavi completed her Master's in Development from Azim Premji University, Bangalore.

This module engages with the work of Urmila Pawar, focusing on her short stories, which draw on her celebrated autobiographical work in Marathi titled Aaydaan, translated as The Weave of My Life: A Dalit Woman's Memoirs by Maya Pandit. Pawar’s feminism is evident in her writings; she has not only written on her experiences of being a Dalit woman in her widely read autobiography but has also penned short stories, using fiction as representational text to talk about the less apparent issues of the intersections of caste and gender.
