This module documents the cultural significance of Mata Kali Kankali in the Gond worldview. It also highlights how literary, cultural and social domains engage with the revival of the Kachargarh pilgrimage. Combining site documentation of the rituals and folk songs of the pilgrims with interviews of the cultural activists who have contributed to the revival of the annual pilgrimage, we look deeper into the ancient and evolving Gondi culture.
