Debleena Tripathi

Debleena currently works as a theatre director and playwright based in Kolkata. She is a guest lecturer at the Department of Drama, Rabindra Bharati University. She has completed Masters in Applied and Participatory Theatre and Comparative Literature. She believes in telling and receiving stories that matter and that is the basis of all her work.

This module attempts to put together an account of the activities of the Kolkata-based theatre group Chetana since its conception in 1972. It traces the history of the times when the group was born and concentrates on the two major directors the group has nurtured and who have in turned been nurtured by it: Arun Mukhopadhyay and Suman Mukhopadhyay.
