During the Warlis’ life-cycle rituals such as joli-lagin-dis (birth-wedding-death), everything is anointed with mohua daru. Mohua daru is also part of the homecoming ritual of their kuldevas (household deities), as seen here. Warli men from Nashik district, whose gods are believed to share kindred relations with those of Palghar district, carry Hirva Dev, wrapped in a red cloth, and the other kuldevas in a karandi (basket).
