Sahapedia Vintage Sari Sale : Edition II
8 April | 11 AM
Do you enjoy wearing saris but want to be able to buy them without spending your month’s salary? Find new saris too starchy and want ones that have already been broken in or just prefer vintage clothes? Want to save the planet by adopting the policy of reduce, re-use, re-purpose and recycle?
Sahapedia has a way for you to do all three—we’re organizing the second edition of vintage sari sale donated by people whose wardrobes are to drool over. Visit the sale and find the traditional Bengali cottons you’ve always wanted, or the ikat patterns that ‘they just don’t make anymore’. Visit www.youtube.com/watch?v=jem2WhW7mkI to hear from a few people who attended the first edition and www.thewire.in/58288/in-giving-new-life-to-old-saris-sahapedia-hopes-to-keep-indian-handloom-tradition-alive to read about its success!
Join us on 8 April 2017 (Saturday), between 11 am and 1 pm. We’re selling saris for Rs. 200, 400, 600, and 800 – great prices for lovely saris!
And if it isn’t enough that you get to re-stock your cupboard with vintage saris, here's another reason for you to come. All the money you spend will go to Rashtra Chenetha Jana Samkhya, and any unsold saris will be donated to Goonj (www.goonj.org). So, come on and help make our vintage sari sale a success!
When: Saturday, 8 April, 2017, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Where: Sahapedia Annexe, C-1/22,
